My first experience of Baking

I have always wanted to bake but I didn't have an oven and wasn't all that enthu to check out an oven and start baking by myself. This workshop that said you dont need an oven really caught my attention and I immediately wanted to do. I registered just a day before and I had close to zero ingredients with me. I also did not have an oven or a very think bottomed vessel, we were speculating if we need to buy an oven or vessel on Friday evening. Then, thankfully one of our dear friend when I shared with her she offered to lend her microwave and Convection oven for two days.
And this is how my first oven experience started with cleaning all its parts, setting it up, connecting and operating. It was a very tiring moment but a fulfilling one to learn how to use it and bake my first cake all by myself with Mini's guidance was so fantastic.
I shopped for all that was needed the previous night and i was still under prepared for the workshop. When I actually started baking it was 8pm on Saturday evening and i took my time to be with the process and baked all night literally and slept only at 5.30am the next morning after all the clean-up and setting things up for the day's baking.

We made 2 final items the first day - Chocolate cake sponge and Pineapple Cream Pie with Jowar flour, almond flour, Oat flour, flaxseed flour etc. The cream that we learnt is nowhere close to what we have known. Everything is super healthy, super tasty and great.

On the second day, we made Orange Tea cake and Sweet Rose cup cakes. I used rose water with great reluctance but I think it tastes great.

All my cakes came out excellent. I am super thrilled to feed everyone healthy cakes now.
I feel so very equipped to wish a near and dear one on their special occasions. My maid, Ranjitha even told me that I can now start a business and that she will help me in doing all work.

The biggest challenge for me was to find so many bowls, boxes to transfer the preparations, plastic covers to put the flour or the sieved mixture and my small fridge despite my fridge being 40% full. I guess this took some extra time. Also, I could not catch pace with Mini. But now, I think i have a hang of the process and would like to bake couple of more times this week so that I am confident in baking more and serving others too or maybe Satvic Bakery as they say in the session.

The biggest and very fulfilling moments are when you make the cake and serve it to others and see their joyful and blissful expressions. Its like you are pregnant for 9 months and go through the hardship and struggles and joys of carrying a baby and when the baby is out and you see its face, all hell becomes heaven right. It was like that moment for me to see my first cake coming up in the oven. A very thrilling and joyful experience I will remember forever.

My body aches because of many hours of standing and doing things. However, it definitely is bypassed by the joy of baking, learning something new and creating bakery items at Home itself with all the healthy ingredients.

Sharing with you all the pictures of my 48 hrs of baking outcome. Some portions of the cakes are definitely missing for obvious reasons 😃🥰
Baking these was a whole new experience and a very fulfilling one. Am so happy and Grateful that I learnt baking and will also start with the best and healthiest ingredients possible for me, my family and friends.

Last but not least, Immense gratitude to our dear friend Rekha and her son Tej for lending their convection oven and all the equipment to use, without which my baking would not be this smooth and easy;
Gratitude to Kowshik, my husband for supporting me in buying all the items the previous night, in getting the oven home and transportation.
Gratitude to Avani, my 15yo daughter for being my motivation to learn baking due to her constant wants to have chocolates and cakes these days. She was huge support in tasting, helping and her excitement towards my baking. This need of my daughter has also made me learn making 100% Pure Artisanal Jaggery based chocolates and also selling them. Now, baking these new healthy cakes will add to my portfolio.
Also, Gratitude to my body for sustaining such long hours of standing and lack of rest and still supporting me fully.

A huuuuuuuggggggggeeeeeeee Thank You to Satvic Movement for inspiring, encouraging me to learn these new recipes and also for curating and conducting such meaningful, impactful and mindful workshops to contribute to the world live in. 🙏🏼
God Bless you all!

Thank you for reading!
